The first chakra of the energetic system is “Muladhara” It is the root chakra. It is located at the base of our being. This represents our right to be here and belong.

My title: “Grounded”

When I first began formulating an image of Muladhara in my mind, I obviously saw a root system. Then I began to consider how in my life I feel secure and grounded. As someone who had just uprooted her life and felt very disconnected to the world around her, it only made sense to start here. The root of my healing. I want to share that I have just recently begun to have some understanding of my mind: thoughts, reactions, emotions, and behavior. I used to be a very anxious woman. I was known to be “uptight.” I felt that I was in the right to be stressed all the time. I began doing my inner work and learned that I always have a choice, I am in control of me. That idea was very empowering and at the same time, calming.
